Install Oracle VirtualBox on your work station. It is free compared to VMWare. Many appliances are available for VirtualBox online. Almost all of Oracles training is prepackaged for free using VirtualBox appliances.
Redhat Enterprise Linux 7
Download the DVD iso of Redhat Linux x86.
Start up VirtualBox, create a new virtual machine. Call it RHEL 7.
Setup two network cards. One is a type of NAT. The other is a “Host Only Adapter”
Use the RHEL image you downloaded. Follow the installer steps. I chose to install the Developer type.
Create a user account. Its best practice to never log in as root.
Subscribe to a RHEL subscription. This is so you can download “official” secure packages from RedHat repos.
